Antique Pictures
Antique pictures have always held a fascination for me. Since the Victorian clothing that I have loved to reproduce is about 100 years old, I have found antique pictures all over the world to share in my books and my magazine. I find these pictures fascinating and the ladies that have read my books have loved these pictures. It’s kind of interesting that most of these older pictures have the subjects not smiling. So, when I find either a child or an adult that has a slight smile on his or her face I always purchase that picture. I will share some of these pictures that I have enjoyed collecting for well over 40 years now. I only wish I knew the names of the people and the places where these pictures were made. Sometimes I have had fun just making up what the names of these people were and where they lived. If I’m fortunate the pictures come in a little cardboard frame that tells the name of the photography studio and sometimes the city location. I consider those pictures quite exciting. I have gotten so many ideas for patterns and garments for my company just by looking at these pictures. I have created a lot of machine embroidery designs for my businesses by enlarging the designs on these garments and recreating them for digitizers to turn them into magic for your home sewing machines.
